Introduction of SCR System and AdBlue/DEF
AdBlue is a product developed with increasing global air pollution and heavy diesel emission regulations.
Particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxides (NOX) of diesel vehicle exhaust are two main sources of vehicle exhaust pollution, the main exhaust after-treatment technologies used in Europe , America and Japan to reduce nitrogen oxides of diesel vehicle exhaust are SCR and EGR+DPF. Among them , Europe and Japan used are SCR based, America has also turned to SCR after 2010.
As the reducing agent in SCR , AdBlue production has became an emerging industry with a complete system of production and sales. Besides , lots of countries such as Europe, American and Japan have developed complete mature technology and application specification for AdBlue.
Comparing SCR with EGR+ DPF and Considering the continuity of technology, domestic diesel quality and so on, the SCR technology is more in line with the requirements of diesel development in most countries.
China has adopted SCR technology in almost all heavy National IV type-approval diesel engines .The SCR exhaust system has become the inevitable choice for heavy diesel vehicles of Euro IV, V and VI in most countries, which will also promote the development of AdBlue .
SCR represents a kind of selective catalytic reduction technology which is suitable for heavy vehicles, trucks, buses and used for exhaust after-treatment. Through the test of the market, SCR is the most economical way in the nitrogen oxide emission reduction scheme.
The main components of the SCR technology are catalyst , spray nozzle , storage AdBlue tank, feed controller, NOx sensor, etc. With the reaction of the catalyst, the ammonia is produced by heated AdBlue and water. Then the harmful nitrous oxide(NOx) in the diesel exhaust is converted into harmless nitrogen and water.

AdBlue is a high quality nitrogen oxide reducing agent used in selective catalytic reduction systems to reduce the nitrogen oxides emitted by diesel vehicles. It is a non-explosive, nonflammable and environmentally harmless solution which consisted of 32.5% high purity urea prilled and pure water. Belonging to the lowest risk of liquid, AdBlue can be classified as non-dangerous goods, the using method is as simple as refueling, just rinse it with clean water if splashed on your hand.

Diesel trucks of EuroⅤand EuroⅥ emissions such as Scania.
Benz Actors commercial trucks such as Actors series, Axor series, Atego series, Unimog series and Zetros series.
Domestic Brands Euro V and Euro VI trucks and bus, such as Cummins , Renault, Renault, Yuchai, Weichai, Fukuda, Xichai, etc.

According to the reaction principle, it shows that the main emissions from car exhaust are the common nitrogen and water in the air after using the AdBlue.
In addition, it is beneficial to reduce the emission of solid particulate matter which lead to Fog weather in the north by using the SCR and DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) technology.

In 2013, China formally implement national standard of the vehicle urea solution, which is GB 29518-2013, diesel engine NOx agent urea aqueous solution (AUS 32). Thus, the global market of AdBlue has bright future and huge development potential.
